Big The Musical Tickets

London Musical
Big The Musical makes its long-awaited West End premiere at the Dominion Theatre this autumn following hit runs in Plymouth and Dublin.
The classic 1987 motion picture fantasy bursts onto the stage in the unforgettable theatrical experience, Big The Musical. Featuring a witty, moving and insightful book by John Weidman (Assassins, Pacific Overtures, Road Show) and a dazzling, energetic, heartfelt, contemporary score by David Shire and Richard Maltby, Jr. (Baby; Closer than Ever; Starting Here, Starting Now) Big is a perfect show for audiences of all ages! Josh Baskin is sick of being an awkward kid. At a carnival, he makes a wish to the Zoltar machine to become "big." To his shock, his wish is granted. After an understandably awkward beginning, Josh is forced to do "adult" things, like getting a job and a girlfriend. In the end, he discovers that there's much more to being an adult than he bargained for and learns that we must all grow up at our own pace, in our own time. Complete with Zoltar, a giant floor piano and stand-out roles for adults and children, Big is a great choice for theatres that are looking for a family-friendly smash-hit that is full of high-energy singing and dancing.

The first half is quite a slog to get through with subpar singing and mistimed dancing. The set design is transitions are very good Maybe I would have been less picky if I had never seen the movie but the supporting cast outside of the 2 leads were average

Good cast. Just a bit dragged out. Some of songs far too long.

I don't think the show works well as a musical. Some of the numbers felt random and forced. The kids playing Billy and josh couldn't do an American accent or sing. Matthew Kelly, was dreadful.

It was a very good show & Jay Mc Guinness was excellent, Who would have thought that back in the Wanted days he would be in a west end show. Now he's done two, First being Rip it up 60's.

Enjoyed the show, but it had no wow factor! Some of the singing was a bit forced and lots was really lovely. Stage was really good and very amusing. Jay and Kimberley were extremely good.

Great film, how did you manage to make the show so dull. It wasn’t bright, vibrant or catchy. The music was dull, the singing was patchy. There was only one part that made me slightly snigger. I love the theatre and I’ve seen many show but this is the only one where I’ve ever walked out. I made it to the interval but it was too painful.

Absolutely fabulous, cheesy grinned and smiled through it all, my cheeks were hurting!! a must watch show. The children were also fabulous

Kimberly Walsh & Wendi Walsh are the only good things about the show. Powerful voices and acting. The sets are also great! The music itself could be better... there is no reference to any of the original movie score (or even the 80s - which is a shame) and the lyrics are super cheesy, both kids cannot hold a tune so it quickly becomes annoying to listen to. Unclear if the show is aimed for kids or adults and in turn the show is neither here or there. The piano scene was very underwhelming and storyline in second half is just a lot of time filling songs. Lots of people walked out in second act. Save your money and rent the film instead.

The show was musical ,fun and slick . Thoroughly enjoyed it all

It was fine. Nothing great and the first half in particular was way too long. It's very slow moving in parts. Slow on cues. And for a show about heart, it doesn't really have much. Got completely lost in the Dominion too and ironically it's not a big show and so the audience feels too detached from it to get emotionally involved. Maybe this will all be rectified in previews.

Enjoyable show, with excellent performances from the four main 'stars'. The supporting cast need polishing and the first half could perhaps do with a little pruning.

BIG Production about a little Boy. All the cast were wonderful. The set is magnificent. Must give a BIG mention to the young actors who played little Josh and especially Billy his friend.. surely a star in the making. If you don't have tears in your eyes at the ending you have a hard heart. See it while you can!!
