David Walliams' Billionaire Boy Tickets

London Musical
David Walliams' Billionaire Boy is coming to the Bloomsbury Theatre just in time for Christmas!
Imagine being the wealthiest child in the land! One-day factory worker Len Spud invents a new loo roll “Bum Fresh - wet on one side, dry on the other”. The wiping-wonder is an instant hit. Len, and his son Joe, become overnight billionaires, turning their lives upside down. Whilst Mr Spud spends, spends, spends on fast cars, 100-inch TVs, and lavish gifts for his glamorous new girlfriend, Sapphire Stone, Joe is left to fend for himself. In the unforgiving world of the school playground, things are about to get more complicated. With his new best friend, Bob, at his side, Joe navigates an assult course of school bullies and dangerously inedible canteen food. To make matters worse, is the impossibly pretty new girl Lauren all that she appears to be? But can money really buy happiness? This hilarious new musical is a triumphant treat for the whole family, based on the bestselling book by David Walliams, and presented by the NST team following their award-winning “whisker-licking treat” Fantastic Mr Fox. It’s an absolute must-see for theatregoers of any age who love upbeat, feel-good musicals. A perfect family show at Christmas. “What a magnificent show! If this production was on Britain’s Got Talent I’d be giving it the golden buzzer! It’s fantastic!” David Walliams ★★★★ “A warm witty musical” Financial Times ★★★★ "It’s more alive and enjoyable than any other Walliams show I’ve seen" The Times "The most enjoyable David Walliams stage adaptation yet." Dominic Maxwell, The Times ★★★★ “The score is terrific: a peppy mix of electro pop, pop, power ballads and funky rhythmic rock largely played by guitar-toting pupils” Daily Telegraph "Jon Brittain’s adaptation, as directed by Luke Sheppard, cleverly conveys Walliams’s authorial playfulness." The Observer ★★★★★ “The real genius of the creative team…is their uncanny ability to mix moments of poignancy and unbridled joy with humour” Musical Theatre Review ★★★★ “One of the theatrical highlights of the year” The Stage ★★★★ “Walliams declared the show a smash-hit. He’s probably right” What's On Stage “Stunning show, which is very much in the Matilda mould” Daily Echo

This is a clever piece of writing which extols the merits of friendship over materialism in a story that was readily acceptable by the many children in the audience (and the 'oldies' as well).

I thought it was very funny and a great adaptation from the book. Loved the stage set with the toilet roles.

Loved it. Great cast. I left smiling and singing. And I'm a pretty miserable old git normally.

The very able cast, so well chosen, brought David’s characters to vibrant life we felt. Max, aged 9 and 10 months :-), loved the lead character and said it was ‘very, very like the book’. Admin at the theatre however could Learn to ‘really’ smile - show some happy teeth - just a bit more! Note - no toilet breaks during performance so empty yer bladders early folks!

    Fantastic production

This show was so much fun, the right combination of humour, excitement and moral. My son didn’t want to go to the loo during break time in case they’d start and he’d miss a second. He hasn’t stopped talking about how good it was. The only ‘bad’ thing was that it ended to soon he said. Very enjoyable for parents also. Chapeau!
