London Musical
Fame The Musical announces a new run at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre following its closing at the Peacock Theatre.
Selladoor Productions present the definitive 30th anniversary tour of Fame The Musical. Following critical acclaim in the West End, the definitive version of Fame The Musical comes to the Troubadour Theatre for a limited season. Based on the 1980 phenomenal pop culture film of the same name, Fame The Musical is the international smash hit sensation following the lives of students at New York’s High School For The Performing Arts as they navigate their way through the highs and lows, the romances and the heartbreaks and the ultimate elation of life. This bittersweet but uplifting triumph of a show explores the issues that confront many young people today: prejudice, identity, pride, literacy, sexuality, substance abuse and perseverance. Featuring the Oscar-winning title song and a cast of outstanding dancers, singers, musicians and rappers as they transform from star struck pupils to superstars, Fame The Musical will indeed live forever. "This is the best version of Fame I have ever seen." - David DeSilva, Creator of Fame

Very small production and amateur. Felt embarrassed as I took my friend there who was really looking forward to see a great musical...

The theatre has nothing fancy in terms of style but it is well set up. We were seating in the stalls, quite at the back on the right side (rank T) and still we had a nice view as the seats have different levels. You don't get a head direct in your sight! Plus the theatre is not too big. Fame the Musical was lively with very good singing performance, lots of talents! Entertaining. I highly recommend.

Good show although it took a while for the storyline to kick in. Energetic and enjoyable. I bought tickets at londontheatredirect with a fairly substantial mark up. Should have checked. Annoying but caveat emptor. ???????

All of the cast were very talented and clearly have wonderful careers ahead of them. However we couldn't help feeling something more could have been done in terms of production and presentation. Having said that Mica Paris singing These Are My Children was one of the best performances I have ever heard on any stage! She was amazing!

Enthusiasm more than made up for slight lack of class.Clever use of the stage and great singing keeps the story moving along at apace and at the end the audience were on their feet. A most enjoyable night out.

I took my teenage niece as a birthday treat (13) it was her first real profession stage production... it was spoiled by 5 unsupervised children sitting behind us with pop corn bags almost throughout the whole first half... felt like in had paid my money to listen to rustling... other than that it was very good.

We came from Ireland to see this show. We were hugely excited as it was a big favourite with us. All 3 of us were beyond disappointed. It wasn’t the actors fault, it was the script and music had nothing to recommend it. It was bland and I think I actually nodded off a couple of times. There was nothing gripping or exciting to hold your attention. We had expected to be up dancing on the seats. Instead, we left at half time feeling very dejected. The music lacked energy and fun. No feel good factor whatsoever! A waste of talented actors and dancers! Thumbs down I’m afraid!

Fantastic singing, and acting, from Mica Paris and Stephanie Rojas and Jamal Kane Crawford was great in a dance number, ‘Dancin’ on the Sidewalk’. Actress who played Mabel had beautiful voice and lots of pep. Second half was altogether more rousing than the first. Which means we left on a high!

The venue is not too big so most seats have a great view. The prices were ok. The production was very professional and we really enjoyed it. Great singing and dancing.

My husband is hard of hearing and asked for something to assist with hearing the show which is available at most shows. The theatre advised that they have nothing, which is astounding, I would suggest you address this issue. Whilst we were trying to sort this out another patron on crutches was advised that she was required to go up steps in the dress circle to her seat. She was furious as she had asked if there was a lift and had been told there was, ommitting the fact that the lift doesn't go up into the dress circle. I would not attend another show at this theatre.
