London Musical
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat returns to the London Palladium in 2020
Following a completely sold out 2019 season, the triumphant, new production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will return to The London Palladium for a strictly limited 10-week season in summer 2020. Released as a concept album in 1969, the stage version of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has become one of the worlds most beloved family musicals. The multi-award winning show, which began life as a small scale school concert, has been performed hundreds of thousands of times including multiple runs in the West End and on Broadway, international number one tours, and productions in over 80 countries as far afield as Austria and Zimbabwe and from Israel to Peru! The show features songs that have gone on to become pop and musical theatre standards, including Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door To Me, Jacob and Sons, There’s One More Angel In Heaven and Go, Go, Go, Joseph. Told entirely through song with the help of the Narrator, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat follows the story of Jacob’s favourite son Joseph and his eleven brothers. After being sold into slavery by the brothers, he ingratiates himself with Egyptian noble Potiphar, but ends up in jail after refusing the advances of Potiphar’s wife. While imprisoned, Joseph discovers his ability to interpret dreams, and he soon finds himself in front of the mighty but troubled showman, the Pharaoh. As Joseph strives to resolve Egypt’s famine, he becomes Pharaoh’s right-hand man and eventually reunites with his family.

Utterly Brilliant - could not fault this quirky production- whole cast were tremendous- no first night nerves on show- very relaxed but exciting performances - Best event in London! ??????

Having never seen the 1st run of Joseph I have no comparison. This show is excellent!! Sheridan Smith as the narrator was absolutely brilliant! Joseph's singing was phenomenal! Unfortunately Jason Donovan's mic appeared to be making his singing muffled - so much so that you couldn't understand the words he was singing. That said I would thoroughly recommend seeing this show and hopefully Jason's sound issues will be rectified as they go on.

First preview of this show. Atmosphere and vibe of cast was brilliant but a few mistakes on stage, mainly costume related.

Theatre and show fantastic. Only thing is leg room is not enough

    Brilliant show and wonderful cast

Not as glitzy as the original, the Pharaoh songs were too slurred (sorry Jason!). The production, for a first night was very good but its just lacked professionalism; putting tap shoes on whilst on set I still don't think should be done.

Stunning, entertaining and energy packed modern production of this timeless favourite. Sheridan Smith is adorable and clearly Jac Yarrow is a star and rising.

The show is called Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, NOT the Sheridan Smith show. Did not like the interpretation and it left us feeling underwhelmed and glad we had not paid more for the ticket. The band has to be congratulated on an excellent performance. Having seen lots of productions of the show over the years this was exceptionally disappointing.

A very entertaining evening. A very colourful and vibrant production. The star of the show was the newcomer who played Joseph, despite Sheridan Smith and Jason Donavon having star billing.
