It was an amazing performance by James McAvoy. A good production overall!

Left at interval as I didn't buy tickets for what was essentially a poetry slam. Direction and performance at "Basic Theatre Studies Class" level, very disappointing.

    Amazing play. Recommend without reservation.

Great performances. Stale production and poor storytelling.

Wow! Unlike Cyrano, sadly I am not a wordsmith. I knew nothing about the show before going apart from people referencing a 'nose'! James McAvoy was outstanding - totally captivating and the entire cast we're brilliant. We absolutely loved it and laughed throughout.

Outstanding modern interpretation of an old story - the diversity in the cast was exceptional , everyone had presence and impact . James bought the character to life in his unique impactful way

The table read rehearsal style of this play is odd, but I got into it about 1/2 way through. The stage is set forward, so the view from the top is dreadful (I was at the top in row B). Got a slight refund on the ticket and a free drink as I didn’t have the opportunity to re-book. But it was disappointing and a clear oversight by the stage designers.

James McAvoy is a revelation. This is the most astonishing, dynamic performance I think I have ever seen on a stage. His range is second to none. I might kill to see it again..!

I had absolutely no idea what to expect. But this play is AMAZING! I loved every second of it! What a wonderful cast and what a fresh, funny, lively, very emotionally moving adaption. James McAvoy‘s acting is BRILLIANT. You can feel the tension, the fear, the heartbreak, the LOVE! Oh how you can feel the love! I laughed and cried. And I loved, loved, loved the different accents. If there was a recording, I would listen to it every day. Thank you so much for this lovely piece of art.

Wonderful modern take on an old story. Loved the simple stage - very cleverly used. Fantastic acting. One of the best plays I have been to this year.

A modern adaptation of the classic play. A fresh view with a bit of sarcastic twist. First twenty minutes I was not sure what was going on and I was not enjoying it. As the play went further the story line became clear and the acting and the sense of humor got my focus. I absolutely loved James McAvoy. I loved the play and would recommend to anyone.

An interesting adaptation of the classic Cyrano. Mcavoy is brilliant.

I loved the play!! James McAvoy and the whole cast was amazing..!! I really enjoyed this version of Syrano de Bergerac :-) (If it was cheaper I'd go watch it again :-p)

    Very disappointing

    James McAvoy is superb!

  • Review Avatar Dec 6, 2019

Extremely interesting adaptation. Mcevoy is the stand out talent in the cast. We both got slightly jaded at the rhyming couplets by the end of the first half and abit to much swearing.

Enjoyed listening to the show but didn't see more than 30 seconds in total of Cyrano himself, due to severely restricted sightlines in the Upper Circle. I didn't see the character of Roxanne once. At all. Not even a glimpse of the top of her head!?! Many people were actually standing up to try and see something...
