The first half was quite long before the intermission but generally engaging, emotional and shocking. Would recommend this play. Well done guys x

The production was too long. There was no substance in the story line as we felt that it did not flow. The acting from Hedley and the older gentleman was exceptional.

The performances were powerful by every cast member - a must see production.

Good story, good acting but too long.

So relevant to the issues of today with some fantastic actors and star power with national treasure Lenny Henry. Play 8 in a 10 play cycle - I'm going to have to buy all the plays and read them.

It was great that the show was accessible to the people in the local community and not just the privileged. Great cast and gripping to watch.

I thoroughly enjoyed the performance of King Hedley II and thought the acting of the entire cast was excellent. The story line was complex but compelling and the set was great. I would have given 5 stars if there was had not been a slight obstruction to my view as I sat in row K1 and to my right there was a pillar that was blocking a full appreciation of the stage and performance.

Beautifully set, lit, cast.......but it needed ferocious cutting. The first half of an hour and three quarters was completely unacceptable and it wore us out, we didn't go back; we stayed in the bar and had a lovely time.It had seemed so static, we didn't care about any of the characters, except the singer, rather a fascinating creature. A great big E for Effort to the cast, they worked their arses off up there, but they, alas, couldn't win us over. Sorry.

Great acting and direction. A bit too long and the lighting, while dramatic, was a bit harsh on the eye from the audience.
