London Play
Meera Syal stars in the classic comedy Noises Off
Michael Frayn’s iconic comedy returns to the Lyric. Noises Off premiered at the Lyric Hammersmith in 1982 and instantly became an iconic British comedy. With technical brilliance and split-second timing, it takes us behind the scenes with a company of actors in a hilarious and heartfelt tribute to the unpredictability of life in the theatre. Hailed as one of the funniest plays of all time, Noises Off makes its triumphant return to the Lyric almost 40 years on, in a bold new production by Jeremy Herrin (All My Sons, Wolf Hall, This House) for fans to enjoy and new audiences to discover. “It’s a great personal pleasure for me, of course, to see my play come home, after all its travels around the world in the last forty years, to the theatre where it took its first hopeful but still uncertain steps.” Michael Frayn

Last minute booking to see Noises Off, what a wonderful performance with lots of comedy. The cast were all fabulous, the production was great, well done to one and all. Lovely theatre too.

Very funny and enjoyable. Very little leg room which made sitting uncomfortable but show itself was great.

Theatre was extremely hot, everyone was complaining and it’s a shame as it took away from the show

Wonderful production. But be aware, there are two Lyric Theatres and we went to the Shaftesbury Avenue one which was 45 minutes away from the correct one in Hammersmith. Anyone not knowing London would make the same mistake. After a £35 taxi ride we eventually made it 15 minutes late!

I previously saw the Catalan production of Noises off back in the 90s. I was honestly very curious to see how this new revival could compete with the good memories I had. I can honestly say that all actors were fantastic and the show brought me sort of an 80s flavour due the stage and costumes design. I might come and see it again!!! and just so you know, Kit Harrington and spouse were also in the audience!!!

Without doubt the play was funny, but I didn't think it was hilarious. The 2nd half was better than the first but the performances overall were very good.

Extremely entertaining and professional production. The audience loved it and so did we.

Fantastic show! Ashame about how hot the theatre was though - it would make me not come back to see another show

A bit slow to start especially as we couldn't hear all of the dialogue but in the second half when the action got going it was very funny.

Incredible acting and so much fun. Can`t remember when we have enjoyed a performance so much.
