The Son Tickets

London Play
Florian Zeller's The Son is set to transfer to London's West End this summer. Tickets are expected to be hot!
★★★★★ ‘If you’re looking for a reminder of why theatre matters, this is it.’ (The Daily Telegraph, Dominic Cavendish) ★★★★★ ‘A compulsive, involving, emotionally stirring evening – theatre’s answer to a page-turner.’ (The Observer, Kate Kellaway) ★★★★★ ‘This final part of Florian Zeller’s trilogy is the most powerful of all.’ (The Times, Ann Treneman) ★★★★★ ‘Exceptional… Fizzes with raw emotion… It totally blew me away.’ (Daily Mail, Patrick Marmion) Direct from a sold-out season at Kiln Theatre the five star, hit play, The Son, transfers to the Duke of York’s theatre for ten weeks only from 24 August. Written by the internationally acclaimed Florian Zeller, lauded by The Guardian as ‘the most exciting playwright of our time’, The Son is directed by the award-winning Michael Longhurst and forms the final part of the critically acclaimed trilogy with The Father and The Mother. I’m telling you. I don’t understand what’s happening to me. Nicolas is going through a difficult phase after his parents’ divorce. He’s listless, skipping school, lying and thinks that moving in with his father and his new family may help. A fresh start. When he doesn’t settle there either, he decides that going back to his mother’s may be the answer. When change feels like the only way to survive, what will he do when the options begin to run out?

Gripping and intense and the main actors were amazing

A superb play by Florian Zeller about the effect his parents divorce has on a teenage boy. All the characters are compelling and it is a very uncomfortable experience for anyone who has been through a similar experience. All the actors were utterly believeable and gave wonderful performances. My first visit to the Kiln Theatre. I will definitely return.

The cast held the audience enthralled at this matinee performance and even managed to introduce humour into a serious subject. Very moving, deadly topical, and thought-provoking. Nicolas, you touched my heart.

The theatre is a great space that invites the individual to share an intimate and inclusive atmosphere . We loved the play, it was powerful and moving right from the beginning. All the cast gave memorable performances and we carried the characters with us on our journey home.

Subject matter was very heavy and putting this on in the form of a play was challenging. That said the acting was brilliant and in the form of a play the sons life details were fed into the drama. Great production and venue great too

Brilliant acting and amazing set and directing! My 16 year old son and I both laugh and cry. The Kiln theatre is a very cosy and intimate venue, perfect for this kind of play.

Lovely show - addressed issues in a sensitive and realistic way.

A good, intelligent, driving play. More direct than other Zeller plays. Well-directed, startling, effective design, good pace, scenes blending into each other. One of the best plays I’ve seen this year.

    Great play

Very well performed, although the ignorance of the parents was a bit unrealistic. Didn't need the fantasy scene at the end.
