The Twilight Zone Tickets

London Play
The iconic sci-fi show The Twilight Zone transfers to London's Ambassadors Theatre.
After a sell-out Almeida run, The Twilight Zone will transfer to the West End, and will run at the Ambassadors Theatre from 4 March 2019. Adapted by Anne Washburn (Mr Burns) and directed by the multi award-winning director (winner of 7 Olivier Awards), Richard Jones, this production of the acclaimed classic CBS television series The Twilight Zone is an ingenious mixture of morality tales, fables and fantasy that are as relevant today as when audiences first encountered them. The Twilight Zone is based on original stories by Rod Serling, and two of the most frequent and celebrated contributors, Charles Beaumont and Richard Matheson from the CBS television series. It is one of television's most revered and influential science-fiction fantasy shows and ran on American network CBS from 1959 to 1964, winning 3 Emmy Awards during its 156-episode run. Its incisive parables explore humanity's hopes, despairs, prides and prejudices. With the original series celebrating its 60th Anniversary Year, a new version recently began production and is coming to CBS All Access in 2019 with Jordan Peele serving as host and narrator. The upcoming new series is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Simon Kinberg’s Genre Films. Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg serve as executive producers along with Win Rosenfeld, Audrey Chon, Carol Serling, Rick Berg and Greg Yaitanes.

Wonderful production. I remember seeing the Twilight Zone on tv all those years ago and this brought back so many memories! Actors had several parts to play and did so perfectly. Original idea for moving the scenery between scenes. Funny in parts, scary sometimes too. Would definitely recommend it.

Brilliant tribute to the original TV show. Wonderfully staged and great use of the music from the 50s TV series.

Excellent production. Great spin on the original series.

  • Review Avatar Mar 12, 2019

I quite enjoyed some aspects of this show, especially the parodies of Rod Serling's narratives! However, I found it quite difficult to follow at first and some scenes were just overly loud with the characters shouting at each other. The minimal set and set changes were very clever and well executed. The whole thing was very dark, in the literal sense, adding to the atmosphere and broodiness of the stories. Highly recommended if you like bizarre and outlandish drama!

Slightly odd but I guess that’s the point of it! Some stories worked better than others. I liked the set change process

Great take on the old TV show and some genuine nods to sci fi addicts out there.

Great show for someone who is looking for a scfi broadway ?? play. Got them US accents down perfectly. Great tension. I thought that short song, comic relief, at the end, Felt out of place. Not the fault of the actors though..

Very different and unusual. Atmospherically choreographed. Great actors. If they weren’t American they sounded very American giving the play an authentic feel. Loved the use of grey throughout depicting the black and white tv series so well

    Great retro feel

A great couple of hours for those who are familiar with the TV show. Performances are very impressive and production design excellent. Particularly liked the monochrome costumes and sets to mimic the original black and white show. Some of the eight stories work better than others. I particularly liked the tales about the astronaut, the diner and the shelter.
